Preconference Intensive: Finding the Magic of Tarot
Tarot is magical any way you look at it. Yet, as tarot students and readers, from beginner to professional, we sometimes struggle to find energy, meaning, and understanding in our work with tarot. Sometimes we fail to grasp and use the power that is inherent in tarot, and in our tarot practice.
In this full-day interactive intensive, you will work with the instructor, and with your fellow tarotists, to find all the ways that tarot is magical for you, and all the ways you can work magic with tarot.
Finding the Magic of Tarot will consist of 5 sixty-minute workshops, with fifteen-minute breaks in between classes, and a seventy-minute lunch break.
Whether you are a new reader, a professional, or somewhere in-between, this tarot intensive will inspire you, and will give you new ways of understanding and using tarot in your life.
Paper and Spirit
9:30 to 10:30 am
In this first hour, we will explore the ways we connect with our cards, and the ways we bring intuition and spiritual guidance into our tarot practice. We will explore the dedication of new tarot decks, and the special relationships we develop with individual cards, decks, and with tarot itself. We will learn the practice of invocation which invites Spirit into each tarot session.
Archetypes and Identities
10:45 to 11:45 am
In the second morning session, we will explore our personal connections with individual cards. We will learn how people appear in the cards for our clients, and how we help our clients understand themselves and those around them in a new way.
Understanding what a card means in a reading is a different matter entirely from understanding classic interpretations, especially when cards speak of individuals and their behaviors.
Practical Applications
1:00 to 2:00 pm
Part of the magic of tarot is finding truth in divination. In this session we will apply the ideas and techniques we learned in our morning sessions. We will divine for ourselves and each other using short-format divination exercises. What we learn about tarot and about ourselves in this session will be enlightening and transformative.
Tarot Mediumship
2:45 to 3:45 pm
Mediumship is magic. How do we allow our loved ones in spirit to speak through the cards? In this hour we will learn techniques for using tarot as a tool of mediumship. Our ancestors, angels, guides, and guardians are always with us. Tarot can give them voice.
Tarot as a Magical Tool
4:00 to 5:00 pm
In this final session, we will discover how to use individual tarot cards, both in divination and in spell work, to influence outcomes, attract and banish energies, engender healing and enhance ceremony.
Closing Commitments
5:10 to 5:30 pm
In an informal closing ceremony, we will perform some tarot magic to fuel our work with tarot as we go forward.
