Rebecca Hart

Performer, Writer, Tarot Reader & Instructor

Rebecca Hart is a performer & writer based in New York who has been reading Tarot since learning it from her playwright/professor/director/Jung enthusiast father in her teens. She is the author of the weekly-ish substack From the Chrysalis and the solo theatre piece How To Read Tarot Cards, commissioned by The Cell theatre NYC and developed in residency there in May 2023, with director Chloe Treat (Great Comet, Broadway). Other highlights of her past few years include an Honorable Mention for the National Playwriting Foundation’s “Relentless” Award and an Irish Arts Center NYC grant & residency, both for her musical IRON JOHN: an american ghost story (music by Jacinth Greywoode), a 3-month residency with her alt-folk act Rebecca Hart & the Wrong Band at the Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan, recording her album The Magician’s Daughter touring nationally in the cast of Lynn Nottage’s SWEAT,  her first (ever) Law & Order audition (somehow), joining the Melodia Women’s Choir and officially launching Clear Tarot NYC, doing events and one-on-one readings after many years of keeping her Tarot life quiet. She’s having a great time and is honored to be part of StaarCon for the first time this year.
